PROFESSOR ADITYA CHATTOPADHYAY YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD-2025
Calcutta Statistical Association announces the 2nd annual Professor Aditya Chattopadhyay Young Scientist Award (PACM YSA) competition for the year 2025. The following are the application procedure, rules and regulations guiding the competition.
The award, instituted out of an endowment from the family of Late Professor Aditya Chattopadhyay, is intended to recognize outstanding contributions of young scientists in the field of Statistics.
The work should be submitted in the form of an academic paper by email attachment to the Secretary of the Association calstata@mail.com. The subject line of the email should read “Submission for PACM YSA Award – 2025”. Submission deadline for 2025 is August 31, 2025. The filled-in application form should also accompany as e-mail attachment.
The prize is individual and only the corresponding author for a multiple-author paper/work will be considered as the competitor.
The upper age limit of the competitor is 36 years as on August 31, 2025.
The paper should contain, beside the name, affiliation and complete address for communication including e-mail id and mobile phone number of the competitor, name(s) and affiliation(s) of all co-author(s), if any, and an abstract not exceeding 200 words in length.
A work already published/accepted for publication cannot be submitted for the competition.
A competitor will need to be affiliated with an academic institution in India.
A jury board for preliminary selection formed by CSA Council will decide whether the paper/work will be accepted for oral presentation. Decisions will be conveyed by 1st week of October.
Competitors who are selected for oral presentation will deliver a presentation in a day seminar conducted by CSA in December 2025/January 2026. Outstation competitors will be allowed to present in online mode.
A second jury board for the final award will select at most 3 papers/works from the presentations for the award. The first, second and third prizes for 2025 carry awards of INR 12,000/-, 10,000/- and 8,000/- respectively.
Competitors selected for the final round will be given a participation certificate.
